THE STREET CHILD APPROACH

They collaborate with over 200 local partners in +25

Focusing on emergency and low-resource contexts.

Street Child exists to help the most vulnerable girls and boys access safe, quality education.

For this reason, they work in the most difficult places in the world, including remote and hard-to-reach areas and fragile states and/or states affected by climate and/or humanitarian disasters.

Recognizing that barriers to education are complex and interconnected, they develop projects with a systemic approach that combine elements of education, child protection and livelihood support.

They thus achieve high impact at low cost, as their projects are implemented by local partners, who have direct knowledge of the situation on the ground and are highly qualified to provide an adequate and tailored response to the needs of the project and the communities in which they work.

Their “back to school” project activities last about 10 months and include not only the construction of the school but also other elements necessary to achieve the goal, such as teacher training and community awareness on the importance of education.

THE STREET CHILD APPROACH

Street Child Italia works to address poverty and socioeconomic barriers for boys and girls in Liberia. The project aims to ensure that every boy and girl has the opportunity to go to school and realize their right to education.

Liberia is one of the most disadvantaged countries globally with high poverty that makes access to education difficult. Over 20% of the school-age population does not attend school and 53% of children in primary school are at risk of dropping out.

Difficulties in ensuring survival and livelihoods, as well as the lack of community support systems, lead to low priority being given to education.

To address this situation, Street Child Italia has launched a project to build a school in Bondo Quarter Town, a rural community located in District 4 of Margibi County.

It is not just about ensuring that boys and girls attend school, but ensuring that they can learn and providing them with the tools to build their own futures.

Sign up at school out-of-school children and support them so that they remain there.
